John Benefield, Owner
Born and raised in Cedartown, GA, John started as a day laborer at the age of 19 working for his father’s company in the summer of 1989. Over the course of 11 years, John worked his way up through Buddy Benefield Construction to become a superintendent. In 2000, he spread his wings to become a project manager at William Benefield & Associates. From 2001-2013, John expanded his expertise as a Contract Administrator under architects and engineers at CDH Partners. He continued as a Contract Administrator and Program Manager at Croft & Associates for the next two years. From 2016-2018, John stayed busy networking and traveling the US to complete property condition assessments before settling down as a Project Manager for True North in 2018. This is where John met a Superintendent named Jason Willis and WB Construction & Development started to take shape.
Jason Willis, Owner
Born and raised in Kennesaw, Ga, Jason started his career in the construction industry in 2001 as an assistant superintendent building residential custom homes. After some considerable time, he moved on to work for Little River Capital as Project Manager until 2009, where he built close to 60 homes. At that point, he ventured out to continue to build custom homes under Willis Construction. He expanded as an independent contractor teaming up with True North in 2018. WB Construction & Development took shape in 2019 and continues to gain traction as a company that residential and commercial clients can depend on to get the job done.

Rodrigo Ixchop-Lopez, Superintendent
Rodrigo Ixchop-Lopez resides in Suwanee, GA and has been in the construction business for over 20 years. Teaming up with his brother Max, they started M & R Brothers Construction, specializing in siding, roofing, renovations, and custom carpentry. In addition to his own company, Rodrigo has spent the last 18 years teaming up with Jason Willis on many projects. Rodrigo joined forces with WB Construction and Development in May 2020 to supervise various jobsites throughout Georgia. Rodrigo looks forward to the future of WB and assisting in the many projects to come.
Lauren Benefield, Project Coordinator/Assistant Project Manager
Born and raised in Cedartown, GA. Lauren decided to pursue a career in construction when her father, John Benefield, started his own company. Lauren's role at WB Construction and Development as Office Administrator/Project Coordinator includes conducting basic accounting work, invoicing, billing, and contract work for upcoming projects. Lauren enjoys being a part of the WB Construction and Development team and hopes that WB leaves a lasting impression on each client they meet.
James Bowman, Superintendent
James was born and raised in Polk County, Georgia before settling in Bordon Springs, AL. He worked for 18 years in Operations and Maintenance Managment for a distribution company. In 2017, he joined AB Construction and Development as a Project Manager. Once meeting John and Jason, he shortly after joined the WB team in 2020.
Anthony Gray, Superintendent
Cedartown, GA native who began his construction career in highschool as a day laborer before working his way up to Superintendent for E.A. Benefield for 10 years. Over the course of that time, he primarily was tasked with building schools and churches. In 2017, Anthony moved on to Project Manager with AB Construction building retail spaces and manufacturing plants. After 3 years, he joined WB Construction to continue his career as a Superintendent.

Amy R. Reese, Esq-Corporate Counsel
Amy Renee Reese was born and raised in South East Georgia. Amy attended Valdosta State University from 1993-1997 and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Minor in Social Sciences. During her undergraduate years, Amy also clerked for the State Court in Lowndes County, serving under Judge Kelly D. Turner. Pursuing her passion for the law, Amy attended Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law, graduating in the top third of her class with her Juris Doctorate in 2000. Throughout law school, Amy interned at local law offices in Macon, Ga. She passed the Georgia bar shortly after graduation and was sworn in as a practicing attorney in Macon, Georgia. Amy worked in private practice, specializing in general business formation and litigation services. For several years Amy was the lead attorney for a well-established law firm in Macon, and later opened her own private practice for the next several years. In 2015 she became in-house counsel for a multi-million-dollar Construction and Real Estate Development firm based in Valdosta and Roswell, Georgia. From August of 2015 until present, Amy has focused her study and practice of law on construction related contracting, business formation, real estate acquisition, dispute resolution and litigation. Amy is proud to have joined WB Construction & Development, LLC on January 1, 2021 and looks forward to a rewarding career with the company.
Josie Ezelle, Project Coordinator/Assistant Project Manager
Born and raised in Macon, GA. Josie decided to follow in the footsteps of her Pop and brother and entered the construction industry in 2019 after a lengthy career in education. Josie’s family has been in construction since before she was born, and she has a natural inclination toward organization and leadership. She has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and she graduated in 2020 with her master’s degree in Business Leadership. Josie believes that she is a life-long learner whose goal is to encourage others and set a standard in the construction industry that marries communication, positivity and servant leadership. She looks forward to each new project at WB Construction and assisting others in reaching their dreams. Family is her greatest blessing and Josie’s heart is her husband and her joy lies in her children.
Larry Ballard, Project Manager
Larry is a native of Macon, GA and started in the construction industry at a very early age, thanks to his Pop. Larry has held numerous tasks and duties from day laborer to Vice President. Someone who was never fond of titles, Larry appreciates and strives for humility because it takes a committed team to be successful. Having been employed in some form of construction business since the age of 12, Larry embodies dedication and hard work.
While attending Southern Polytechnic State University, Larry had the privilege to work for Beers Construction and then Dublin Construction which helped open doors and give invaluable experience. Larry came back home to Macon in 2001 and co-owned ECI Contracting Group for over 15 years specializing in HUD work and Historical Renovations. Larry and his family felt it was time to move on and he continued his historical renovation and multi-family experience with True North Construction Group in 2018. While at True North, Larry met Jason Willis and John Benefield and at the end of 2020 made the decision to move to WB Construction and Development to continue his career.
Larry’s greatest joy is his family. He has been married to his wife, Mandy, since 2001, and they have three children.
Richard Hilton, Superintendent
Originally from Louisiana, but moved to Georgia 13 years ago from NC. Carpenter by trade and NCCER certified; Richard has been a committed supervisor in construction management for 20 years. He has been managing various construction jobs including commercial, residential, and nuclear. He continues excelling as a superintendent since the start of WB.
